Another $400 Billion Dollar Richer: These Are the 10 Richest People on The Planet

The ten richest people in the world have become 402 billion dollars richer in the past year, according to Bloomberg’s billionaire's index. With a wealth of 277 billion dollars, Tesla top executive Elon Musk is now the richest man in the world.

1. Elon Musk: 277 billion dollars (+121 billion dollars)

Musk started 2021 with a fortune of 156 billion dollars. At the end of the ride, he was a staggering $121 billion richer. This was largely due to the boom year for Tesla shares, which increased in value by 60 per cent in one year. Musk is investing part of his fortune in his space company SpaceX.

2. Jeff Bezos: 190 billion dollars (+5 billion dollars)

The former CEO of Amazon, Jeff Bezos, goes into the new calendar year with a fortune of 190 billion dollars, which is 4.5 billion dollars more than last year. Bezos left his role as CEO of Amazon in July to spend more time on his space company Blue Origin, the newspaper The Washington Post and his charity organisations.
